Here's an opportunity I just learned about on the San Francisco German conversation group message board:
The Goethe Institut is offering a scholarship to learn German in Germany. If you write the funniest, entertainingest essay about why you already study at the Goethe Institut here in San Francisco, then they'll ship you off to Germany, put you up, teach you more German, and offset $500 of your travel costs.
And oh yeah, if you aren't already a student at the Goethe Institute SF you can enroll in a German course by August 7, 2010.
