The SF Goethe Institut has just released a list of German classes in San Francisco starting January 8, 2011.

If you're looking for discount German courses in San Francisco, the Goethe Instituts options may have you looking for other alternatives. The quality of the accredited foreign language classes offered in downtown SF, however, is superb. If you can afford a couple hundred extra dollars, this is well worth it.
That said, if you are on a budget there are plenty of decent options in the Bay Area. Check the foreign language department at your local community college, SF State, either of the SF or Berkeley UC Campuses, private German graduate programs, not to mention the numerous San Francisco language academies competing with Goethe Institut by featuring German language classes. Enroll now because the beginning of the semester is just days away!
Lastly, if you just want to practice German in San Francisco in a relaxed and casual environment, or use the conversation group to supplement your SF German lessons, then i highly recommend local Stammtisch that I often attend.
